So January is over now...
I feel like this year is going so fast already.
I guess that's a good thing, since I can't wait to meet our new little man!
A lot has happened (like every other month)
We took a trip to Arizona to spend some much needed time with our grandparents, good friends and of course to get out of this dang cold, Utah weather.
We lucked out and ended up in Arizona with a blizzard back home, so it was nice not to have to worry about that!
We decided to fly to Phoenix and Lia was in heaven.
The last time she was on a plane, she was still drinking from a bottle and wearing diapers, so it was an entirely new experience.
She did awesome!
She loved just looking out the window and playing games with me and eating lots of yummy snacks.
The flight home, she just slept the entire time, even through the landing! I guess that's what we get for making her take a late night flight without her having a prior nap.
She seemed to enjoy it though.
We love going to Arizona. Maybe one day we will even live there (fingers crossed)!
I turned 16 weeks while there, I'm really starting to pudge out. Especially now at almost 19 weeks.
I'll put some new pictures of the bump on here soon.
I have to say, this pregnancy has by far been harder than with Lia.
I don't know if it has to do with working full time and having a pretty energetic toddler, while still trying (keyword: trying) to tend a house.
You're energy is already non-existent, but this pregnancy has just been plain hard.
Luckily, I'm rarely hit with morning sickness. It just gets me at random, unexpected points.
However, having stopped my prenatal and multivitamins, my migraines have slowed down pretty well and stay pretty manageable. Thank goodness my doctor thought outside the box and realized I was potentially getting too much of something within my vitamins, so stopping that has helped a lot. I just take a children's multivitamin now and it seems to not be impacting me, so lovely that is!
The hardest part right now is pain.
This babe is big and growing fast. I'm so much bigger at this point in pregnancy vs with Lia, you could barely tell at this point.
Little man seems to be sitting much lower, therefore putting a ton of pressure onto my hips.
I seem to be feeling like my hips are spreading and sometimes even grinding on something... it's been horrible. To the point where I can't move, sleep, forget about walking up or down the stairs...
I'm really hoping that doesn't keep getting worse, but I am definitely still growing, so there is more weight to be added onto them.
I signed up for a hypnobirthing class!!!
I start it May 28th at my hospital.
It's 2.5 hours a class, one day a week for 5 weeks. (My classes will end about 6 days before I am due!) It teaches you all about deep relaxation to the point where you can basically teach yourself to breathe right through the pain without needing any sort of medication.
That's definitely something I do not want this time around.
With Lia, I had one goal, pain free... give me that juice.
Somehow I had made it to a 7 before they gave me the epidural and headed me in for an emergency c-secion due to fetal distress. Maybe it was because I was so unbelievably drugged up during and after the delivery of Lia that I just don't think I enjoyed it as much as I could have. I was so exhausted and could barely keep my eyes open... it was kind of awful.
Things got out of control and this time, I want to be prepared for the worst but ready to be alert and "with it" when we welcome baby Duke into the world.
Ok, so enough about me!
Here are some other highlights of my January.

My Best friend Ambree had her final baby shower, of course we had to document the baby bumps together while we still had the chance! |

My best friend Qazia and I waiting in the waiting room for Ambree's little baby girl to be born! |
And say what? This Valentine's Day baby decided to come 2 weeks early and surprise us all!
She was born Thursday, January 30th, 2014 at 11:53pm.
She weighed 7lbs 2oz and 19inches long.
She is a stunner with the best chunker cheeks you ever saw.
This little niece of mine is the best! I love her so much already!
Can't wait to watch her grow up before my eyes!!!
