So Far So Good

2013 is turning out to be a very lucky and great year so far!!

I have a story for you {haha}

I applied about 3 times at American Express, where Robbie works...

Since we are married, I could only apply for departments different than his..

especially since he is a supervisor, that would be a complete no no.

I applied for 3 positions for 3 different departments.

I applied for:

 Corporate (graveyard position)

Fraud Department

And Travel Department (wost phone interview ever... I did so awful)

I got phone interviews for every one,

I got denied from fraud

and got in person interviews for Corporate and Travel.

The interesting thing is those two interviews were a week apart!

Both interviews went great! Both were in front of a panel of either 2 to 3 people, which I like.

The first interview was Corporate... the best interview I have ever done. I was told I would hear back the next day..

That never happened. Then it was a weekend, then the New Year holiday...

I called twice that week to follow up... no luck...

However that week I had the Travel (I was still so surprised I got that interview. I had a migraine the day of the phone interview and I got surprised by the call and for some reason on this day, I just couldn't shake how much pain I was in. My voice was shaking and I was trembling over my words.. I had a hard time focusing.. it was just terrible..)

The in person interview went great!!

They told me I wouldn't hear back about the job for about two weeks..

I move on.. enjoy the rest of week/weekend.

One week passes and finally on last Friday, I decided to make my last and final attempt for the Corporate position... The lady answered and explained that there was a small issue and I might have to reapply but she would know for sure on Monday..

To my surprise... she called me about 4 hours later and offered me the position!

I was so excited!!

This was the job I have wanted.. its not a super busy department, and the shift is perfect.

after my 4-8 weeks of training {Lia will have to go into daycare during that time, sad}

I will be working Friday through Monday from 6pm to 5am.

I get to start on the 28th of this month!!

 We were thrilled to say the least. The best thing that could have happened to us.

Today, I got a surprise call from the Travel Department, offering me the job for Travel Counselor!
I was sad to turn it down because it would be such a fun department to work in and you get a free flight every year with it, which would be so fun!

TWO JOB OFFERS.
I knew getting laid off would bring something great my way.. it just took me until now to figure that out!

I am beyond grateful for this opportunity!
2 out of 3 job offers was more than I could have ever hoped for.

Robbie and I will have to give up our trip we had planned for March {honeymoon} but I think it will be worth it.
