Thanksgiving 2012

I SURVIVED!!

I cooked for close to 20 people and it went so well.
I cooked pretty much everything the night before so Thanksgiving day wouldn't be so stressful.
That was a pretty smart tactic on my part! haha
I got to just spend most of the day just hanging out with family!

I took a lot of pictures of the food I made but here are just a few..
I will go through the Thanksgiving Menu for you ;)

Turkey, of course.
Before and After.
I made an apple and sage turkey..
I stuffed it with an apple and onion stuffing

Before and after again..
I made a stuffed pork loin.
This was stuffed with cream cheese, dried apricots and apricot preserves and wrapped with bacon.
it was pretty dang good.

We also had..

My dad's garlic mashed potatoes with my special gravy

cheese and cracker tray

pistachio and marshmallow salad

My candied sweet potato and marshmallow casserole

Pasta salad

My homemade cranberry sauce

I made an amazing carrot and bacon soup

This is my mom's amazing green beans, my grandmaman's recipe!
everyone was obsessed!!

This is my pomegranate salad, with pomegranate seeds, gorgonzola cheese and baby greens
tossed in a pomegranate vinagrette.

This year, I had NOTHING to do with dessert.
Maybe one year I will be superwoman and do the whole Thanksgiving and dessert, but....
not this year. haha
(from left to right)
Homemade peppermint desset with crumble
Homemade pumkin pie
Homemade blackberry pie

These girls are talented! :)

Everybody ate it up!!
I think it was a success!!

along with the great food was great tables that my mother in law and I set up,

This was our gold table!

This was our cute sweethearts table.. awe!!

This was our green table!!

For those of you that don't know,
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
I was honored to cook for my family.

Thanksgiving is my favorite, not just because I love everything about food and cooking...
that's just a bonus.
It's the fact that this food brings everyone you love together.
I love being around family..
This year was extra special for me.
This year, was my first Thanksgiving as a Thompson.
and spending it with Robbie as a married couple!
My side of my family and Robbie's all together for Thanksgiving under one roof.
This was overwhelming for me.
I didn't think it would be, but it made me emotional.
I wish I could have more days like we did yesterday.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
